Trust & privacy

Built for young performers, safe by design.

Ovaro handles children's names, dates of birth, performance recordings, and family payments. That is a responsibility we take seriously. Here is exactly how we protect the people you serve.

  • Guardian-managed accounts

For performers under the age of majority, a parent or guardian creates and owns the account. A minor cannot be signed up without adult consent.

  • Organizers see only their own event

Your festival data is scoped to your festival. Another organizer cannot browse your entrants, marks, or financials.

  • Families own the record

Guardians can view, export, and download the full performer history at any time. When the performer becomes an adult, the account transfers to them.

  • Payments go through Stripe

We never store card numbers. Registration fees run through your connected Stripe account and go straight to you.

How it works in practice

Plain-language protections for real families.

We wrote this for a parent or a festival board member — not a lawyer. For the full legal details, read our privacy policy and terms of service.

  1. Private storage with time-limited access

Recordings and sensitive materials are stored privately and accessed only by the people who need them — the family, the adjudicator during scoring, and your designated festival staff. Access windows can be limited by your event settings.

  2. Delete, not just hide

When a family asks to delete a profile or recording, it is removed. We do not keep copies in hidden archives or use deletion as an excuse to keep data.

  3. Adulthood means ownership

When a performer reaches the age of majority, guardianship transfers. The profile, the history, and the portfolio become theirs to keep, export, or delete.

What we do not claim

Honesty matters when children’s data is involved.

We will not put a badge on this page that we have not earned. We design for safety, we follow best practices, and we are transparent about what we do and do not do.

  • We do not claim security certifications we have not completed.
  • We do not sell performer or family data.
  • We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.
  • We do not store card numbers or banking details.
